Specialized additional education programme created for motivated students of Kaunas University of Technology who are willing to acquire strong competencies in the field of financial technologies in addition to their chosen study programmes in Applied Mathematics, Software Systems, Information Systems, Informatics, Economics and Finance.

How to become a SKILLed FinTech student?

PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION PROCESS!

 

Apply to the SKILLed FinTech programme if:

  • you are a 1st year Bachelor student of Applied Mathematics, Software Systems, Information Systems,Informatics, Economics, Finance study programmes at Kaunas University of Technology;
  • your entrance competitive score to the University is 7 or higher;
  • your national-level math exam result is not less than 75 points;
  • you are ready to become an expert in the field of financial technologies.

Fill in a participant’s form in the section “Competitions” of the Academic Information System (AIS) from 24th of August to 14th of September and submit the following documents:

  • CV (you can include your extracurricular activities – volunteering, membership of the organisation, participation in the projects – as work experience. It is recommended to prepare it using CV template.);
  • Cover letter (describe your motivation to become a student of the “SKILLed FinTech” programme);
  • Recommendation (-s) (add recommendations of your teacher or the leader of your additional activities, etc.);
  • Other scientific activities (upload the documents supporting your scientific activities, participation in the Olympiads, competitions, etc. issued from 1st of September, 2017);
  • Other activities (upload the documents supporting your social activities issued from 1st of September, 2017: volunteering, participation in the activities of an organisation, organised events, etc.)
    *Tick type A1 by “Other scientific activities”.

Receive a letter confirming that you have passed to the 2nd stage of the selection and prepare to participate in an interview. This stage will provide you an opportunity to reveal your potential, willingness and motivation to become a student of the “SKILLed FinTech” programme.

Motivational interviews will take place on 17th-21st of September. We urge you to check your University’s e-mail regularly.

Receive a letter confirming that you have become a student of the “SKILLed FinTech” programme.

 

Selected students will be announced on the 22nd of September. Do not forget to check your University’s e-mail.

 

At the beginning of the second semester of the first year, an additional selection can be conducted if there are vacancies at the programme. All 1st year students of Bachelor’s study programmes in Applied Mathematics, Software Systems, Information Systems, Informatics, Economics, Finance are invited to the selection, whose average study results in the first semester is not less than 8.5 points*. Submission of the documents in AIS to the “SKILLed FinTech” programme will be open from 8th of January, 2021. The results will be published by 3dof February, 2021.

* You may apply to the programme when the final grade point average of the semester is not yet known. The semester’s final results are checked additionally in the last days of January.

 

Additional study modules of SKILLed FinTech programme

Your study grid will expand with additional study modules that provide knowledge in the field of financial technologies. Additional modules depend on the study programme you are studying, and the lectures of the modules are individually adjusted to your study schedule.

 

F. A. Q.

The main selection to the SKILLed FinTech programme is conducted in August-September.

If there are vacancies, the additional selection to the SKILLed FinTech programme can be organised at the beginning of the second semester of the first year. All 1st year students of Bachelor’s programmes in Applied Mathematics, Software Systems, Information Systems, Informatics, Economics, Finance with the average study results of the first semester of not less than 8.5 points are invited.

  • A 1st year student of Bachelor’s programmes in Applied Mathematics, Software Systems, Information Systems, Informatics, Economics, Finance;
  • National-level math exam result is not less than 75 points;
  • Entrance competitive score to the University is 7 or higher;
  • Motivation to become a student of SKILLed FinTech programme.

The agreement made between the SKILLed FinTech programme and a student is terminated if the student:

 

  • Fails to get an assessment for at least one module of the study programme;
  • Violates the general principles of academic ethics;
  • At least one of student’s final evaluations of the module is less than 6.0;
  • Student’s grade point average of the semester is less than 7;
  • Fails to meet the requirements of the Agreement;
  • Fails to achieve the individual and professional goals set for the semester;
  • Does not participate in 70% of the programmes activities without a valid reason.

Scholarships for SKILLed FinTech programme students depend on the opportunities available to the University at that time as well as their involvement in the programme, active participation and implementation of projects.

After graduation from the SKILLed FinTech programme you will be awarded an individual file of competencies and a diploma of the SKILLed FinTech programme.

SKILLed FinTech is a 4-year programme. To complete the programme, you have to participate in its activities for all 4 years. Only the 1st year students of the Bachelor’s studies can enter the programme.
