Morgan Ward (NDT) Ltd | NDT Technician
KTU Alumnus

Areas of expertise and career experience: I am a KTU graduate with a degree in Aviation Engineering and around four years of professional experience in non-destructive testing (NDT). I am qualified in accordance with the EN 4179 standard, with my main areas of expertise being aircraft technical condition assessment in accordance with manufacturer and customer requirements, defect detection, and the practical application of non-destructive testing methods.

I have also gained professional experience in aircraft maintenance, working as an aircraft mechanic. This experience has given me a good understanding of the importance of technical solutions, safety, responsibility, and compliance with procedures in a real-world working environment.

As a mentor, I would like to share my practical experience of starting a career in a technical field, developing professional competencies, choosing a specialization, and transitioning from university into professional life. I would also like to help students better understand which competencies and mindset are important for establishing themselves in technical and engineering fields.

Expectations for students: I do not have any specific expectations of the mentee. I understand that during their studies, it is not always easy to know exactly what they want to pursue in their future career. I would therefore like to create an open space for discussion and help them explore and find a direction that suits them best.

My motivation/personal goal for participating in the mentorship programme: I have gained solid professional experience in the aviation industry and found a career path that I genuinely enjoy. I would like to share my experience with students and help them explore their own path and discover a career direction that genuinely interests and motivates them.
