Areas of expertise and career experience: I am an IT specialist currently pursuing a PhD in Informatics Engineering at VGTU. My research focuses on information security and gamification.
I spent approximately 10 years working in Norway in various IT project and department management roles at international companies providing software and digital solutions for the maritime, oil, renewable energy, and utilities industries.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics from Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences, where I also obtained a qualification as an Informatics teacher. I later continued my studies at Kaunas University of Technology, completing a Master’s degree in Information Technologies for Distance Learning.
I participated in student exchange programmes at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria in Austria and National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) in Taiwan. I also completed an internship as a Systems Developer at IWMAC AS in Norway through the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE) programme.
Expectations for students: Curiosity and a willingness to learn.
My motivation/personal goal for participating in the mentorship programme: I have previously participated as a mentor in the LT Big Brother project and the KTU GUIDed mentorship programme. I would like to continue gaining experience by sharing my knowledge and inspiring mentees to pursue their goals and turn them into clear, actionable objectives. I believe this is an opportunity for each of us to grow.
Interests and other information about me: I am an adrenaline enthusiast, so I am always willing to challenge myself and try new things. I enjoy ballroom dancing on the ground and skydiving in the air.
