‘- Yapily: Software Engineer (Jan 2026 – Present)

Work on Open Banking platform integrations, covering PIS and AIS for 2000 banks in Europe.
Build and fix bank-specific connectors, handling PSD2/SCA compliance, consent flows, and production incident investigation.
Use Java, Spring Boot, and Project Reactor, working across a large microservice-based monorepo.

  • Mimiqit Oy: Full-stack Engineer (Feb 2025 – Sep 2025)

Contributed to a large share of the Dancecovery app’s development, focused on Flutter-based front-end features and back-end integration.
Implemented Stripe payments, subscription flows, and secure revenue distribution.
Built deep linking, smart navigation, and dynamic booking interactions to improve usability.
Used serverless functions (Firebase Cloud Functions) for automation and ran data analysis to optimize user engagement.

  • Acmewerx, Inc.: Full-stack Engineer (Jan 2024 – Feb 2025)

Led full-stack development across full product cycles, from concept and prototype to production.
Worked on a patented decentralized data architecture (Trusted Client-Centric Architecture), using front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) and back-end languages (Java, Rust, Kotlin, Swift, AWS Lambda).
Managed secure AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, API Gateway) for compliance-ready deployments in regulated sectors like DeFi, healthcare, IoT, and government.
Conducted market analysis and led client meetings to align technical strategy with business goals.

Areas of expertise and career experience:

‘- I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), specializing in Internet Informatics, and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence at KTU as well, focusing on advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and applied AI.

  • I currently work as a Backend Engineer at Yapily, where I build Open Banking platform integrations, covering PIS and AIS payment flows across standard bank groups, along with PSD2/SCA compliance and bank-specific connector work. Before that, I worked as a Full-stack Engineer at Mimiqit Oy in Finland, where I built Flutter-based mobile features, Stripe payment integrations, and booking flows for a dance app, and at Acmewerx, Inc. in the US, where I worked remotely from Lithuania, I led full-stack development on a patented decentralized data architecture and managed AWS infrastructure for regulated industries like DeFi and healthcare. My broader technical background spans front-end (React, Angular, Vue, Flutter), back-end (Java, Node.js, Rust, Kotlin), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and data science/ML (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Personal strengths:

‘- Adaptable and self-driven, comfortable moving between very different domains (fintech, full-stack development solutions, blockchain).

  • Strong communicator and collaborator, used to working cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and business teams.
  • Persistent problem-solver who verifies things thoroughly before drawing conclusions.

Expectations for students: Someone curious and proactive, willing to ask questions and try things hands-on rather than waiting to be told exactly what to do. Open to critical feedback and comfortable with a bit of ambiguity, since real engineering work rarely comes with a clean spec.

My motivation/personal goal for participating in the mentorship programme: I’ve had a varied path into tech, from professional football and acting to a full career pivot into software engineering, and had a lot of help and mentorship along the way. I’d like to give that back, especially to people who don’t come from a traditional or linear background, and help them navigate early career decisions with more confidence than I had.

Interests and other information about me: Outside of engineering, I have a background as a chef, an international actor and model, and a former professional footballer, so I bring a fairly unconventional and varied life experience. I’m also into machine learning and data science, and enjoy hackathons and bootcamps (blockchain, computer vision) as a way to keep learning outside of work.
