It is a talent development programme providing all the possibilities for the talented students of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) to improve and realise their abilities in science and business areas by participating in the “Challenge” activities.

Gifted programme

You will develop your personality!

  • You will work with career mentors – professionals in the business sector of your chosen study field. You will learn about your professional area with the help of 20 career mentors selected according to their professional recognition, social activities and scientific achievements.
  • You will participate in the programme “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” for personal development and emotional intelligence development. Participation in the programme will give you a chance to communicate with business representatives and experienced specialists in the area.
  • You will plan the development of your personal competences. In the first year, you will make a plan of your personal competences; its implementation will make you attractive in the labour market.

You will accept professional challenges!

  • You will acquire professional knowledge in the advanced-level lectures provided by the most competent KTU lecturers. You will have a chance to study 2 advanced-level modules in each semester of the first year of studies.
  • You will participate in the international interdisciplinary project “VIRTUAL REALITY MARKETING”. With the use of virtual reality technologies, you will work with a team developing marketing solutions from an idea to a functioning prototype.

You will aim to become an expert in your professional area!

  • You will participate in the business/research challenges. During these challenges, you will develop innovative products in intense cooperation with business representatives and experts of various disciplines. You will work and consult with the highest-level research mentors selected according to their professional recognition, social activities and scientific achievements.
  • You will have a chance to acquire professional knowledge in the lectures of the Bachelor’s and Master’s studies. Each semester, you can choose one additional lecture from the entire timetable of KTU studies.
  • You will plan the development of your professional competences. In the second year, you will make a plan of your special competences; it will enhance your professional knowledge.

By becoming the master of your career, you will be able to:

  • Acquire international experience by participating in a bilateral exchange or Erasmus+ programme;
  • Choose additional modules from the entire timetable of KTU studies;
  • Participate in the career planning consultations;
  • Complete your internship at the most competitive Lithuanian and international business companies.

How to become a GIFTed student?

PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION!

If you are a first-year student of the Bachelor’s studies at Kaunas University of Technology, your last semesters grades average is at least 8 and you are ready to accept challenges – submit an application to “GIFTed” Talent Academy.

Fill in a participant’s form in the section “Competitions” of the Academic Information System (AIS) from 2 January to 14 January and submit the following documents:

  • CV (you can include your extracurricular activities – volunteering, membership of the organisation, participation in the projects – as work experience. it is recommended to prepare it using CV template.);
  • Cover letter (describe your motivation to become a student of the GIFTed Talent Academy in a clear and original manner);
  • Recommendation (-s) (recommendation of the teacher or the leader of your additional activities, etc.);
  • Other scientific activities (upload the documents supporting your scientific activities, participation in the Olympiads, competitions, etc. issued from 01 09 2018);
  • Other activities (upload the documents supporting your social activities issued from 01 09 2018: volunteering, participation in the activities of an organisation, organised events, etc.)

Receive a letter confirming that you have passed to the second stage of the selection and participate in an interview. This stage will provide you an opportunity to reveal your potential, willingness and motivation to become a student of the GIFTed Talent Academy.

Motivational interviews will take place on 16-19 of January. Please, check your University email regularly.

Receive a letter confirming that you have become a student of the GIFTed Talent Academy and get ready to accept CHALLENGES!

Selected students will be announced on the 22th of January. Please check your University email regularly.

At the beginning of the second semester of the first year, an additional selection can be conducted if there are vacancies at the Talent Academy. All the first year students of the Bachelor’s studies whose semester’s grade point average is at least 8 are invited to participate in the selection*. The documents to the GIFTed talent development programme can be submitted in the Academic Information System from 13 January 2020. The results are announced until 3 February.

* You can also apply to the Talent Academy when the final grade point average of the semester is not yet known. The semester’s final results are checked additionally in the last days of January.

The main selection to the GIFTed Talent Academy is in August-September.

The additional selection to the GIFTed Talent Academy can be organised at the beginning of the second semester of the first year of there are vacancies. All the first year students of the Bachelor’s studies whose grade point average of the first semester is at least 8 are invited to participate in the selection.

The Talent Academy is a 4-year programme. To complete the Talent Academy, you have to participate in its activities at least for 3 years. Only the first year students of the Bachelor’s studies can be admitted to the Talent Academy.

The students of the GIFTed Talent Academy are awarded a scholarship of 150 EUR per month in the first semester of the first year of studies. The students of the GIFTed Talent Academy are awarded a scholarship of 300 EUR per month from the second semester of the first year of studies.

The students of the GIFTed Talent Academy can freely choose additional modules from the Bachelor’s and Master’s study programmes but it is not mandatory.

You will study the following modules: Media Philosophy, Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2, Project Management.

You will study the advanced modules with other first year students of the Talent Academy. The lectures of the advanced modules are individually combined with the usual study timetable of students.

After graduation from the GIFTed Talent Academy, you will be awarded an individual file of competences, a recommendation of KTU Rector and a diploma of the GIFTed Talent Academy.

The agreement made between the GIFTed Talent Academy and a student is terminated if the student:

  • Fails to get an assessment for at least one module of the study programme;
  • At least one of his/her final evaluations of the module is less than 6.0;
  • His/her semester’s grade point average is less than 8;
  • Fails to achieve the set individual goals of the semester;
  • Fails to meet the requirements of the Agreement;
  • Does not participate in the activities of the programme.
