There are 6 art societies in KTU.

University’s students are invited to spend their free time improving their skills in dancing, singing, photography at KTU art societies.

Events of the societies, which are led by nationally and internationally renowned professionals, contribute significantly to our country’s cultural life.

How to become a part of INSPIRed?

  • Choose the art society.
  • Contact us using the provided contact information.
  • The best time to join is in September and February. However, you are welcome during the entire year.

KTU Folk Art Ensemble "Nemunas"

“Being a part of such society gives a taste to your life. If you stay after the first weeks or months of rehearsals and concerts, you already are a person, who can be an example for others.”

ACTIVITIES
• Participant of Lithuanian Song Festivals
• About 40 performances per year
• Tours (visited many countries, including USA, Mexico, Canada, Pakistan, Venezuela)

SHORT INTRODUCTION
• Established in 1949
• Awarded the first (highest) category of amateur art societies
• Includes dance group, choir members, orchestra, music band
• It is KTU art society, which travels the most

KTU Academic Choir "Jaunystė"

KTU Photostudio

“If people spent more time performing meaningful activities, for example, going to the theatre, visiting exhibitions, concerts and educating themselves, there would not be so many painful issues in our society. I love photography and believe in its future. At KTU Photo Studio I am surrounded by different people, with different understanding and needs. My objective is to observe them and try to help, if needed – to point them into right direction.”

KTU Theater Studio "44"

“Theatre/cinema is storytelling. The creation of real or fictional stories, myths, fairy tales is essential today as it was hundreds of years ago when the legends and stories were told by the bonfires. By comparing ourselves with the heroes or real people in the stories, we create our life story. The theatre allows me to see what kind of person I would or would not like to be or even tried not to be.”

SHORT INTRODUCTION

• Established on the students’ initiative in 2016
• The first performance took place in KTU Graduation Ceremony 2016
• Program developed by the orchestra themselves: popular music of various genres in “street band” style
• Mood, rhythm, energy is the style of this group. Let’s blow and create together
• The band actively participates in various festivals including “Kaunas Jazz” (“Jazz Street”, 2017, 2019), “Tauragė Jazz 2017” and other festivals in Lithuania and abroad
