What is ChipTech?

Chip Technologies

This is a field focused on improving the efficiency of semiconductor manufacturing and application processes. Today, chips are used in everything from smart home devices to equipment in the defense and manufacturing sectors.

SKILLed ChipTech – is a specialized supplementary education program of the KTU Talent Academy that’s running in collaboration with the KTU Chip Academy. It provides you with the competencies needed for a career in chip manufacturing and implementation, along with comprehensive personal development and financial incentives.

You are invited to join SKILLed ChipTech if you are a student of the following bachelor’s study programs: Electronics Engineering, Transport Electronics, Automation and Control, Intelligent Robotics Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Physics, Materials Physics and Nanotechnologies, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering.

Why it is worth becoming a SKILLed ChipTech student?

COMPETENCES IN THE FIELD OF CHIPTECH  Alongside the knowledge gained in your main study program, you will also acquire competencies in the ChipTech field. During the program, you will study additional and advanced modules covering electronics knowledge essential for a ChipTech specialist — you will have 36 study credits per semester instead of 30.
GROWTH AS A LEADER You will develop comprehensively and gain an advantage over other professionals by strengthening personal skills such as goal setting, networking, leadership, project management, communication, public speaking, product development, business management, teamwork, and more — depending on your personal ambition.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES You will visit companies, take part in shadowing opportunities, and have the chance to secure an internship at chip manufacturing and implementation companies in Lithuania or abroad. Upon completing the program, you will receive a SKILLed ChipTech graduation certificate with a personal recommendation from the rector and a portfolio of your competencies.
CHALLENGES You will participate in hackathons and business challenges, organize personal projects with the support and resources of the Chip Academy, and during your final year, you will mentor and share your experience with younger program students.
MEMBER OF THE EXCLUSIVE COMMUNITY You will participate in (non)formal activities alongside motivated like-minded peers from the SKILLed ChipTech program, and sometimes from all Talent Academy programs, which will make it easier for you to form teams for projects and be part of a community that encourages personal and professional growth.
VALUE-ADDING CONTACTS  By visiting companies and participating in business representative training sessions exclusively for SKILLed ChipTech members, you will expand your network for personal and professional development.
